General FAQs / Beer Info

What does the “Packaged On” date on your cans mean?

 The “Packaged On” date printed on the side of our cans shows when the beer was canned at Snake Lake Brewing. This is not an expiry date. Beer doesn’t technically expire, but for the best flavour and quality, we recommend enjoying our beers fresh — ideally within a few months of the packaged date, depending on the style.

How should I store my beer?

Beer stays freshest when it’s kept cold, upright, and away from direct sunlight. We recommend storing Snake Lake beers in the fridge to preserve their flavour and quality.

Do your beers contain allergens?

Most of our beers contain gluten (from barley, wheat, or other grains). Some specialty beers may include additional ingredients like lactose, fruit, or spices. If you have specific allergies, please check the label or ask our team before purchasing.

Are your beers vegan-friendly?

The majority of our beers are vegan-friendly. Some limited releases may include lactose (milk sugar) for sweetness and body. When this is the case, it will be clearly noted on the can.

Visiting the Taproom

Where is the brewery?

We’re at 26 Industrial Drive, Sylvan Lake, AB—five minutes south-east of Lakeshore Drive. Plenty of free parking on-site. 

What are your hours?

Mon–Thu 12 pm-8 pm · Fri & Sat 12 pm-9 pm · Sun 12 pm-7 pm.

Are minors allowed?

Yes! Our taproom is family-friendly every day. We have board games and kid-size sodas. 

Can I bring my dog?

Absolutely, leashed pups are welcome on our dog-friendly patio whenever the weather cooperates. Water bowls supplied. 

Do you serve food?

Yes. From waffle fries and wings to frog legs and beer-cheese dip, plus rotating weekend specials. Vegan & GF snacks marked on the menu.

Do you take reservations?

Walk-ins rule the day, but we’ll hold tables for groups of 8 +: call 403-858-1159 to book. 

Tours, Events & Bookings

Do you offer brewery tours?

We run behind-the-scenes tours most Saturdays at 2 pm. Book online or call ahead; spots fill quickly.

Can I book the taproom for a private function?

Yes! Weddings, staff parties, and live-music nights welcome. Capacities and rates vary; email hello@snakelake.beer for a quote.

Any recurring events I should know about?

Beer To-Go & Online Orders

What can I buy to take home?

Our fridge is stocked up with cans to take home or bring your growler and fill it up right at the source! 
The taproom is also the place to buy your Snake Lake merch! 

Do you fill outside growlers?

Sure, but feel free to buy a Snake Lake growler ?

Can you ship beer?

We currently ship within Alberta only; orders within Sylvan Lake must include a minimum of two items (either six packs or bottles.) Orders outside of Sylvan Lake must contain a minimum of four items. Age-verified ID is required on delivery.

Kegs & Custom Cans

Can I rent a keg for my event?

Yes, 30L (~50-60 pints) and 50L (~90-100 pints) sizes are available, plus party pumps. Fill out the form on our website: Special Orders -> Private Kegs page.

What’s the minimum for custom-label cans?

10 cases (240 cans) per design. Flat $75 art fee covers design & one revisions; approximately 10-14 day turnaround after proof approval depending on current beer inventory.

Odds & Ends

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we do. These are issued electronically by email and each contains a unique reference number. Our gift vouchers are ideal if you’re not sure what to get that special person in your life. Simply buy a gift voucher instead for the value of $10, $20 or $50.

Wi-Fi?

We offer free guest Wi-Fi, ask the bar for the password.

Accessibility?

Our taproom is wheelchair-accessible; accessible washroom on main floor.

How do I start carrying Snake Lake Brewing products in my venue or store?

Contact our sales team at sales@snakelake.beer. We’ll connect you with the right rep and provide pricing, availability, and ordering details.

Do you distribute through Connect Logistics?

Yes, our beers are available through Connect Logistics in Alberta. If you already order through Connect, you can add Snake Lake Brewing products to your orders. If you’re outside Alberta, please contact us directly to discuss options.

Do you have minimum order requirements?

Order minimums may apply depending on product type and location. Reach out to sales@snakelake.beer and our team will confirm current order requirements.
